Army Musical Outreach announces a vacancy for a Vocalist/Performer preferably with instrument capability to perform with Army Musical Outreach, a performance touring element of the Marketing, Education and Outreach directorate of U.S. Army Recruiting Command.
Army Musical Outreach is a four-Soldier team that performs across the United States at high schools, music festivals and sporting events. Original music is a vital piece of the team’s mission, and those with songwriting capability will excel in this position. The team tours across the country 220-300 days per year telling their unique Army story through the avenue of music, opening the eyes of potential Future Soldiers to unexpected ways to serve their country.
The position requires an individual with exceptional musicianship and stylistic flexibility to perform an extensive and diverse repertoire. Candidates would be expected to perform as the only vocalist fronting a three-piece rhythm section for several hour-long shows per week, integrating the most up-to-date talking points of Recruiting Command in an authentic and conversational manner. A flawless, consistent ability to sing the National Anthem to DoD standard, at 90 seconds, and without stylistic embellishment is mandatory.

- RANK: SGT or higher
- YEARS OF MILITARY SERVICE (Minimum): 4
- MILITARY EDUCATION LEVEL: ALC (All phases complete)
- REMAINING TIME IN SERVICE: 3 years - must have minimum of 24 months time on station at current assignment to be eligible for PCS.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess strong leadership, managerial and interpersonal relationship skills
- Must have the ability to set priorities and allocate time accordingly
- Must have excellent stage presence skills
- Must demonstrate sound judgment, initiative and ability to work with little or no supervision
- Must be able to work as a team with co-workers
- Must meet and maintain Army height/weight standards at all times and present a sharp military appearance
- Must be able to program for audience demographics, mostly age 16-24, in rural, suburban and urban markets of multiple cultural backgrounds
- Must demonstrate the ability to cover many genres of music, and quick memorization of current radio Top 40 in addition to original music
- Deployment experience preferred
APPLICATION PROCESS:

- resume, including any current social media profiles
- DVD or YouTube video with four (4) solo selections to include the national anthem; a combination of varying genres and, if applicable, an original song
- current ERB
- full-length photograph in Army Service Uniform (ASUs)
- last 3 NCOERS
- current APFT score card showing at least two record tests and attached Body Fat worksheet (if required)
- letter from your current unit commander recommending you for the position and agreeing to release you if offered the position.
