The next webcast (called "Brown Bag Lunches") will occur this Wednesday, 25 June 2014 at 1200 EST. There is no perfect time of day to reach the entire command with a live broadcast. The broadcast is not intended to distract from the duty day. Luckily the Hangouts tool simultaneously records the live show for playback later, so personnel can watch when it is best for them using the same URL as the live show.

Laptop viewing - best achieved using a MiFi or Jetpack. Organizations are encouraged to connect one laptop to a projector so multiple devices are not competing for bandwidth. If you do not have a MiFi or Jetpack, please disconnect from the VPN and disable the proxy server in Internet Explorer (in IE: Settings / Internet Options / Connections / LAN Settings)

USAREC Team,
In recent weeks, the command has started the process of "Going Google" as proven by the fielding of unique Gmail addresses with a custom @goarmy.com ending. Recruiters should have received a "Welcome to Google Apps for Government" email which contains your username, a temporary password, and instructions to on-board your Samsung Galaxy S4. If you have not seen this e-mail, please search your @mail.mil inbox for it. If you did not receive the email, your S6, through the Chain of Command can help.

As a part of the Google Apps for Government (GAFG) fielding initiative, the Headquarters will conduct weekly webcasts using Google's Hangouts on Air tool. These broadcasts will be live and fully interactive, providing a vital communication and feedback function between the Headquarters and the field. Viewers will be able to interact with the presenters by typing their questions/comments in YouTube, or through Twitter and Google+ (make sure the post is set to "Public") using a custom hashtag: #USARECBBL1. The broadcast is not intended to distract from the duty day.
