A new tool that will allow for consistent, customized Army interview presentation materials across the command launched today.
The Enlisted Army Recruiter Presentation is a web-based presentation recruiters can navigate with prospects, applicants and families to tell the Army story and share information most relevant to each person’s needs and interests. It is available to the entire command and can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-Tdlxwio-yDQNfYxaVsWZqbQfAStyM20fokiYKUDytA/pub?&loop=false&delayms=3000 on devices with internet access, including smartphones, tablets and computers.
“It’s interactive. It’s engaging for the audience,” said Master Sgt. Richard Conerly, initiatives NCO with USAREC’s Commander’s Initiatives Group and creator of the presentation.
The presentation was made using Google Apps for Government’s Google Slides app.
From the menu screen, a recruiter can choose from slides covering various topics, from gear and equipment to Army Values to how to join, and much more in between.
The presentation allows prospects to interact with the content. For example, a prospect can use the recruiter’s tablet to tap on parts of Sgt. Star’s uniform and learn more about a Soldier’s gear.
The presentation is also visually appealing, Conerly said. It avoids text-covered slides and lists of hyperlinks and instead features Army-related photos, graphics and videos.
Slides also contain links to external sources with information like pay charts, post locations and GI Bill benefits for various schools. This allows prospects to get information directly from the source, as well as ensures information presented is up to date.
The Enlisted Army Recruiter Presentation also makes presentations easier for recruiters by providing the best content in one location, Conerly said.
“I think the presentation is important because it takes the burden of finding good content for a presentation off of a recruiter and affords more time for recruiters to find people to present to,” he said.
Having one ready-to-go presentation also ensures consistent messaging across the force and prevents branding mismatch, Conerly said. It also exposes recruiters to tools and content they may not otherwise have known about.
Future presentations will support recruiting for AMEDD, SORB and officers, Maj. Gen. Allen Batschelet, USAREC commander, said in a Strength 6 Sends message. A presentation discussing women in the Army will also be provided.
The Enlisted Army Recruiter Presentation was built based on recruiter feedback and was built to meet recruiters’ needs and the audience’s interests, Conerly said. Recruiters can fill out a feedback survey about the presentation to help continuously improve it.
“What you see now is the result of a whole bunch of feedback,” he said. “It’s a living document. We’ll continue to fine-tune it.”
