Innovation: HS lists plotted on Google Maps

By Sgt. 1st Class Gary Maltby, Tyler Recruiting Company
As a new recruiter performing house calls, I realized that I would visit neighborhoods only to find out that I was in the same area a week ago. Not to mention my center commander would constantly ask me why I didn’t know my neighborhood.
This drove me to create the ability to see where all the leads live in a high school class. I created a professional Google account, which gave me access to Google Maps. I used Report Management Zone (RMZ) to export high school lists to Microsoft Excel from the Automated Lead Refinement List (ALRL).
Once I imported the lists to Google Maps, I was able to see the locations of an entire senior high school class on the map that you can view when logged into an account from any device that connects to the Internet.
This drastically reduces time for locating a group of seniors by using data that’s already available to recruiters at no cost.
In addition, Google Maps allows recruiters to change the color of the points according to the results of the prospecting (interested, not interested, etc). Recruiters can plan an efficient prospecting trip (hot-knocks, home visits, etc).
Maltby won the Innovator Award for 5th Recruiting Brigade at this year’s Annual Leadership Training Conference for his Automated Lead Refinement List Google Maps innovation.
