Columbia South Carolina recruiters and Soldiers from the Hometown Recruiter Program (HRAP), recently spent a chilly day in a local downtown park feeding those in need.
They served grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and passed out warm clothing to the homeless, Feb. 26.
"This is really great, what they are doing," said one gentleman who referred to himself as being temporarily residentially challenged.
"I'm glad we were able to do this for our community," said Sgt. 1st Class Stephanie McLeod, Sand Hills center Leader. "I talked to a few veterans today. This was a way to show we care."
While passing out drinks, HRAP Soldier Pvt. 1st Class Khadijah Marason said, "It's cold, but I'm glad I could be out here, it's another way to serve."
The company is looking forward to doing community outreach projects each quarter.
